Hello, I am Sun-Mi Shin.
I was born in Korea and have been living in Germany for over 25 years. Two languages, two cultures – that is my everyday life. As a conference interpreter, I ensure that people understand each other – professionally, personally and culturally.
I started interpreting at international trade fairs while I was still a student in Bochum – back then as a student assistant, today as a professional language mediator. My path led me to a master’s degree (film and television studies, art history, social psychology) at the Ruhr University Bochum and a master’s degree in conference interpreting at the renowned Graduate School of Interpretation and Translation at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul.
Since then, I have been accompanying conferences, business meetings, political delegations and more – on site in North Rhine-Westphalia (Düsseldorf, Cologne, Ruhr area) or remotely via digital platforms.
